1956 上海戯劇学院で美術論の教鞭を執ると同時に、主に人物肖像画を創作
1966 文化大革命で作品と画材を焼却されて下放
1976 文化大革命後、創作活動を再開
1979 敦煌莫高窟にこもり創作、絵画に独自の新境地を築く
1986 ニューヨークに移住現在、ニューヨークのクインズにて創作活動
